The Connors are Going to Korea!

Part of our new job means overseas assignments. Phil and I were really excited about this, as it is something we have wanted to do with our family ever since we got married. We found out that we would be moving to South Korea shortly after we got back to Texas from our Christmas travels. It was going to be a fairly quick move, which was fine with us. The less time we have apart, the happier we are. Phil made one trip to Korea without us to start working on the project, but after a month he was able to come home and get our move going. We got out of our lease, moved most of our stuff into storage, shipped the things that were to accompany us, and headed off to a hotel to await our flight. This is where our story really starts. On a Friday morning (very early in the morning) we arrived at the airport with our five kids in tow, oh and the 14 bags and three car seats, can't forget those. We approached the Delta counter only to discover that we were missing a passport, Phil's passport to be exact. It seems that the moving company needed a copy of Phil's passport and visa for the shipment and so Phil took the passport and scanned it, only he then forgot to remove the thing from the scanner and it was packed and loaded into a crate. OH NO! Well, we had the number of the moving company but it was 5:00am and they didn't open until 7:00. Our flight was scheduled for 7:20, so we knew we weren't going to make it. Phil got on the phone to see what he could do about flights and we finally got a hold of the packing company. He went and rented a car so that he could go to their office and find the passport. I sat in the airport with the boys (Jocelyn went with Phil) and waited to hear our fate. The kids kept themselves occupied reading, sleeping, and playing with toys until Phil came back triumphantly clutching his passport. He also had a new set of flights for us, leaving the next day, a new room at the hotel where we had spent the night before and a rental car to get us around town to run some last minute errands. The next morning, we did the whole thing over again, except this time we actually got on the flight and made it to our destination. Fun stuff.
